HONORING THE VOID
O shed a tear or two, for our time now ended,
for dreams unrealized and hopes unfulfilled.
Yet know the love and life we shared remain.
Even as do you, for a time.
In memory of me, live to the fullest,
for one minute of mindfulness
echoes more than a decade
of mindless busyness.
As for me, I go on to my next adventure.
Confident the smallest atom in the farthest galaxy
obeys God's command,
how can we, made of billions of atoms,
ever be forgotten?
The one who fashioned us from stardust and seashells
and breathed in us a living spirit,
creates, comforts and calls us still
to rise higher and become more.
And so, despite the emptiness, honor the void
in tribute to what once was;
Bless the pain, as proof it was real and
Light a candle of prayer in the quiet chapel of your soul
to dispel this hour's darkness.
And only when you are ready, let go of even this.
Do not be afraid. I shall live on in your heart
as you do in mine
and as we do in God's.
Seek me in the sunrise or in the pounding surf.
See me in the autumn leaves or
hear me howling in the wintry storm.
Then you will know, as I now do,
how yesterday's death
gives birth to eternal tomorrow.

entristexcan.
Y nunca, nunca temen morir,
recuerden que yo me he adelantado
para ir a su encuetro cuando llegue el momento.

MEDITATION OF THE DAY
The Power of Faith
We must , then, have faith and not be dispirited. We must not be stopped by any kind of human calculation. To overcome the obstacles we have to throw ourselves into the task so that the very effort we make will open up to new paths. Personal holiness, giving oneself to God, is the one cure which overcomes any dificulty.
Being holy means living exactly as our Father in Heaven wants us to live. You will say that it is difficult. It is. The ideal is a very high one. And yet it is also easy. It is within our reach. When a person becomes ill there may be no appropiate medicine. But in supernatural affairs, it is not lke that. The medicine is always at hand. It is Jesus Christ, present, in the Holy Eucharist, and he also gives us his grace in the other sacraments which he established.
Let us say again, in word and in action: "Lord, I trust in you; your ordinary providence, your help each day, is all I need." We do not have to ask God to perform great miracles. Rather, we have to beg him to increase our faith, to enlighten our intellect, and strengthen our will. Jesus always stays by our side and is always himself.

MEDITATION OF THE DAY
Be courageous. Continually offer him your sufferings while asking him for the strength to bear them. Most of all, get used to convsering with him often, and try never to forget him. Adore him in your infirmities offer him your sufferings from time to time, even in the midst of your greatest pain. Ask him humbly and lovingly, as a child does his kind father to be conformed to his holy will, and for the help of his grace. I will help you with my poor, insignificant prayers.
God has various ways to draw us to himself. He sometimes hides from us, but faith alone - never lacking when needed - must be our support and the foundation of our trust, which must be placed entirely in God.
I do not know what God wants to do with me. I am always more content. Everyone is suffering, and I , who should do rigorous penances, experience such continual, profound joys that I have trouble keeping them under control.
I would gladly ask God to share your sufferings, if I did not know the extent of my weakness, which is so great that if he left me alone for one moment I would be the most miserable of creatures. I don't know how he could leave me alone, since faith lets me touch him, and he never withdraws from us unless we first withdraw from him. Let us take care to remain near him. Be with him always. Let us live and die with him.

Danny
It's been 8 months today. I still fee numb, don't know the way, yet. I miss you so much. They say that as time goes on, the pain will be less. To give it time. But I can't. My heart still hurts the same, if not even more. I still don't feel like 8 months went by. I'm still in Oct.24th. I still miss you, I'm still waiting for you to walk in and we sit and talk, laugh .... ay Danny.. I'm getting a little bit stronger. Trying to cope. Just one day at a time.
We got together this weekend. All of us were there. Your girls had fun. I enjoyed them so much. Abby stayed over. Alexa was so tired. We'll be seeing them today also. They want to go to the movies. Also making plans to take them SPI. in July like every summer. I'm trying my best to be with them. I need them. I see them and they are you. That's all I have left from you. You know how much I love them and how much I need to hear their voice everyday. They are the ones to make my day, and specially Alisa,Javi,Joel,Diego and Rene. I love them all!!

MEDITATION OF THE DAY
Celebrating the Birth of John the Baptist
The Bible gives us no figure more isolated than John the Baptist, who does not quite fit neither the Old Testament or the New... One dare not forget that according to the infancy narrative the one who came after sanctified his precursor - that is, equipped him for his task - already in his mother's womb. We glimpse here an event that applies throughout the entire Old Covenant. After all, according to Paul, we see Jesus accompanying his wandering people as a spiritual rock offering water in the desert (1 Cor 10:4), and according to the Letter to the Hebrews, Moses preferred the humiliation of Christ to the riches of Egypt (Heb 11:6). Yet the calling of John in his mother's womb takes place explicity at a specific event - when two women met - and was expressed in equally concrete terms: "You, child, shall be called the prophet of the Most High and shall go before the Lord to prepare his way" (Lk 1:76). Without question John was aware of his personal vocation as he grew up, and it is out of his awareness of having been called that he discovered his inelucable symbol - baptizing in the River Jordan...John releases his followers to follow Jesus; he does not begrudge them their larger following (Jn 3: 26-27); indeed, he rejoices that his task declines while the Coming One's grows... The Baptist's "joy which is now full" (Jn 3: 29) shows how much he belongs - precisely as the one who lets go - to the wedding festivities of the New Covenant.
